What This Site Is

This is the personal website of Jonathan Cook, an author of fiction. The Site provides information about the author and his books, a newsletter signup, free downloadable stories, and an AI-powered interactive fiction feature called Harlan’s Desk.

Harlan’s Desk

Harlan’s Desk is an interactive feature that uses artificial intelligence to role-play a fictional character from the Handler’s Inventory series. By using it, you understand and agree that:

• It is a fictional entertainment feature, not a real person or a source of factual advice.
• Responses are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, inconsistent, or unexpected. They should not be relied upon for any real-world decisions.
• Your messages are sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) for processing and are stored as described in the Privacy Policy.
• You will not use the feature to submit personal, financial, medical, or otherwise sensitive information.
• You will not attempt to manipulate the AI into generating harmful, abusive, or illegal content.
• Conversations are limited per session and may be rate-limited at my discretion.

Intellectual Property

All content on this Site — including text, character names, world-building elements, story excerpts, cover artwork, and the Harlan’s Desk feature — is the intellectual property of Jonathan Cook unless otherwise noted. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without written permission.

The free downloadable stories are provided for personal reading only. Redistribution or commercial use is not permitted.

By subscribing to the newsletter, you consent to receive periodic emails about the author’s books, stories, and related content. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. Your email address is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:
